Kotoka & Jefkings

We arrived in Ghana yesterday (Saturday) around 8:00 a.m. All went well, except Ralph Young's personal bag didn't make the trip from NY.. It is supposed to be on this morning's flight. We "trucked" out of Kotoka International Airport with: 9 trunks of LWW materials & supplies for the training; 11 carry on bags; 10 personal bags; and 11 semi-weary travelers.

We were met at Kotoka Airport by Rev Asante, Michael Asiamah (Our LWW In-Country Technician) & Charles Korantang (Our LWW In-Country Coordinator). It was great to see our friends and introduce those friends to the LWW group.

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) had us staying last night at the Jefking Palace Hotel. Some of us had running water this morning and some did not. No worries, a bucket shower every now and then is good for the soul and cardio!

We spent yesterday taking lunch and visiting the Presbyterian Women's Center at Abokobe where LWW has a water treatment system installed. It was good that Michael & Charles could spend some time with Dan, Ralph, Stephanie, Dave, Kendall, & Joanie around the system at Abokobe. Already the collective wisdom of LWW (US & Ghana) is coming together.

We rested for a couple of hours late yesterday and then took a light meal at the Jefkings before Kendall hosted a Clean Water U IT planning meeting and Joanie lead the devotional to close the meeting.

Today we are worshipping with Rev Asante at his church and then we will be making our way up into the coastal mountains to Akropong. Oh - with a stop at Kotoka to pick up Ralph's bag!

Thanks

Steve
