I have blogged about this chapel before in previous trip posts. It was built in 1848 by Basel missionaries that came to Ghana from the Stuttgart area of Germany. I think a previous blog referenced that the first Basel missionaries (3) arrived from Europe in 1828 and settled in the Accra area. They dies from malaria within a few years as Accra sits in a delta of Accra on the ocean - prime area for malaria, then & now.
After many years Basel missionaries returned and this time settled in the coastal mountains here in Akropong. In previous trip posts, I have written about the commentary adjacent to the church where some of the early missionaries are buried and every now and then - Chalmers says she is going to bury me there....
